The Sunshine cafe is a brunch place just a 10 minute walk from where I live. I don't think it welcomes dogs, which is something I always look for in a restaurant or cafe, on account of my own 2 Staffordshire bull terriers. The cafe itself is not in a very public position and can easily be overlooked or missed driving by. The only sign that it actually exists is the sign outside the turning into the car park, which you have to walk across to get to the actual itself. It is mainly designed for truckers to eat, which is why part of there menu is based around trucker too (The Truckers breakfast, and The mini truckers breakfast).
Most people consider it to be a greasy spoon cafe, which I suppose it is, but for a greasy spoon, the food it excellent and very cheap for the quality. It has a range of brunch meals, and you don't have to just follow the menu, you can ask for certain things on your plate (as long as the items are in a meal somewhere on the menu). The hygiene is also excellent and unlike some places, they clear and wipe down the tables straight after the customer has left. The layout of the cafe is 2 sections, the main section that includes the kitchen, the bar you order at, and about 6 tables, 3 with window views. The second part has about 8 tables with a view into the car park. The parking is also great and provides more than enough room for the number of guests the cafe can hold (not including the staff). Although the cafe was barely half full, the atmosphere was warm and friendly, as was the staff when you order and when they serve your meal.
I had a bacon and sausage sandwich with thick bread (not on the menu) and my mum ordered a bacon and egg sandwich with a French roll. My sandwich was amazing. The bacon was well done and had no fat bits on it, and the sausage was succulent and super tasty! My mum also said that her meal was fantastic. All meals are freshly cooked and delivered to your table really quickly. For the quality of the meal and ho fast it reaches your table, most people would say that it is hugely expensive, and in any other place it would be, but in reality this is not at all the case. Even though there are the menus, the sauces, salt and pepper, and sugar for tea and coffee, the cutlery is on a shelf at the back by the toilets with the napkins. I would definitely come back here to eat again!
